What type of fireplace do I need to use your products?
All of our products are certified for fully vented gas fireplaces. A select few are for vent-free, but only where indicated on our site.
How do I determine what size burner I need for my fireplace?
A standard single-sided fireplace will have a back wall that is narrower than the front opening. The widest part of the burner should not be wider than your back wall, while leaving a minimum 3 inch gap next to the front corners. A standard double-sided fireplace is rectangular. There should be a minimum 3 inch gap from the edge of the burner to the fireplace wall.
How should the H-burner be installed in my fireplace?
We recommend placing the burner hole-side down, in the center and slightly towards the front opening of your fireplace. We do this because the flame has a tendency to be drawn up and moves towards the rear wall. H-burners are for fully vented applications only.
How do I determine what size ring I need to my fire pit?
There should be a minimum 3 inch gap from the side wall to the burner.
How should the Ring Burner be installed in my fire pit?
When installing the burner outside with the natural elements we recommend placing the burner hole-side down. This will help keep water out of the gas line. Ring Burners are for fully vented applications only.
Should I match light? Or use an ignition?
Indoor propane applications are typically required to have an ignition system. Natural gas applications can be match lit, but ignitions can be used. If you are unsure, it is best to contact a local professional as every jurisdiction has different rules and regulations.
What can I do about my existing dirty fireplace walls? Can I clean or improve them?
Purchase a cleaning solution at your local grocery store, hardware store or specialty fireplace store to clean the soot off the wall. Afterward, use a flame and heat resistant paint to give your walls a fresh look.
What type of paint should I use on my fireplace walls?
A flame and heat resistant fireplace or barbecue paint. Consider a paint that will resist heat beyond 1200 degrees. Regular paint will not be sufficient.
